Cagamas kicked off the year with its first SKIES (Skills, Knowledge, Ideas, Experience Sharing) session, a bite-sized knowledge-sharing event where four Cagamas representatives shared insights from their recent learning assignment with the Japan Housing Finance Agency (“JHF”) in Tokyo, Japan.
During the session, the representatives revealed key takeaways, valuable insights, and actionable ideas on how Cagamas can enhance its practices and adopt new approaches on product offerings, marketing and operational efficiency. The team discussed Japan's mortgage financing products and regulatory frameworks, which cater to various housing needs while incorporating climate resilience and social inclusiveness. These efforts advance Japan’s ESG agenda in the property sector.
"The insights gained from JHF were an eye-opener for our approach to ESG," noted one participant. The engaging session concluded with the team offering unique perspectives on innovative approaches to meet Japan’s housing needs, emphasising sustainability and inclusiveness.
This learning assignment was part of the regional cooperation in capacity building through the Association of Secondary Mortgage Market Association, of which both Cagamas and JHF are members.
